Changelog

New features and improvements in Malleable.

Chat with Malleable in Slack and Teams, channels, and runs on the canvas

Chat with Malleable in Slack and Teams

Mention Malleable in Slack or Teams, or message it directly. Ask questions, look things up in your apps, or build and run workflows without leaving the conversation. In Teams, runs now post updates and people answer questions right there.

Choose who sees each part of a run

Decide who sees each stage of a run, and where. For example, a manager sees the approval in Slack while the requester follows along on the web.

Choose when a stage starts

A stage can wait until something is true, like "3 approvals are in", before it starts.

Watch runs on the canvas

Watch any run move through your workflow on the canvas. Each stage shows how many runs are waiting there and flags ones stuck for more than a day. You can also replay a finished run.

Also

Ask Malleable about past runs, more sharing controls, and multiple start stages

Ask Malleable

Chat with Malleable from anywhere in the app, or press ⌘K. Ask it to find a past run, look into a failure or test a workflow.

Share with specific people

Share a workflow with specific teammates instead of your whole organization, like a Google Doc.

Start at different stages

Each way a workflow starts can now begin at its own stage. For example, an employee's form starts at "Check the expense" while a vendor's email starts at "Read the invoice".

Also

  • When a workflow asks a question in Teams or by email, people can just reply.
  • Improvements to make building workflows with Malleable snappier.
  • A cleaner, easier-to-read canvas.

Handoffs, web browsing, and Microsoft 365

Handoffs that wait for a reply

A workflow can ask someone a question in Slack, Teams or email and wait for their answer. If they don't reply, it can remind them or move on.

Workflows can use a web browser

Workflows can use a browser to work with sites that don't have an API, like a private client portal.

Microsoft 365

Workflows can manage Outlook calendar events and work with files in OneDrive and SharePoint. See the Microsoft 365 integration.

Also

  • The runs list is now a table you can sort, filter and export.
  • A Versions tab to browse past versions of a workflow and restore one.
  • Custom integrations now support API keys, so connecting an app with a key is much simpler.
  • File improvements: workflows can create PowerPoint decks, use files attached in Slack, and attach files to emails.

Test runs, memory, and Malleable in Claude

Test a workflow before you publish

Ask Malleable to test a workflow before you publish it. It stands in for the people involved, can skip real changes to your other apps, and tells you what happened.

Memory

Workflows can now remember things between runs, like which tickets they've already handled, so they don't repeat work.

Use Malleable from Claude

Connect Malleable to Claude, ChatGPT or another MCP client, and build and run workflows from there.

Also

  • Custom integrations: connect apps like NetSuite with your own OAuth app.
  • Workflows can create and edit Excel and CSV files.
  • People can fill out forms right in Slack.
  • Organize workflows with labels.
  • A cleaner run page that shows where the run is.

Branching workflows, Microsoft Teams, and Gmail

Branching paths

Workflows can now take different paths. For example, approved requests move on and rejected ones go back to the requester. Paths can join back up or loop back to an earlier stage.

Start workflows from Microsoft Teams

Start a workflow by mentioning Malleable in a Teams channel or messaging it directly. Workflows can also message people in Teams.

Gmail and Google Drive

Workflows can read your Gmail and write drafts for you to review. They can also use any file you can access in Google Drive.

Also

  • Visual improvements to the workflow canvas, including sub-workflows shown inside the main workflow and a summary of what changed before you publish.
  • More workflow sharing controls, including private workflows.
  • Workflows can read Excel and CSV files, even large ones.

Malleable suggests improvements to your workflows

Workflow suggestions

Malleable now reviews your workflows and their recent runs, and suggests fixes. You pick which ones to make.

Also

  • A refreshed look, with dark mode.
  • While editing a workflow, ask Malleable why a run failed.
  • Workflows can read PDFs, images and spreadsheets in Google Drive, and save files there.
  • Choose whether a workflow uses its owner's accounts or the accounts of the person who started it. How connections work.
  • Invite teammates to your organization by email.
  • Workflows can create and edit Slack canvases.

Sub-workflows, MCP servers, and runs in Slack

Sub-workflows

Break a big process into smaller sub-workflows. The main workflow runs them as steps and gets their results back. It can run several at once, like one for each approver.

Connect any app with an MCP server

Connect apps like Granola, Atlassian or PostHog through their MCP servers. Sign in once and your workflows can use them.

Runs in Slack

Runs started in Slack now post updates in the thread. When a run needs input, people answer right in Slack.

Also

  • Add a wait to a workflow, like one day before a follow-up.

Scheduled workflows

Run workflows on a schedule

Run a workflow on a schedule, like every weekday at 9am. Pause it anytime, or run it now.

Runs that wait for days

A run can now wait for days for a person or a timer, then pick up where it left off.

Also

  • Choose whether a failed step stops the run or lets it keep going.
  • Switch the workflow list between card view and list view.
  • Start another run straight from a completed form.

Shared workflows and Notion

Share workflows with your organization

Share a workflow with everyone at your company. They can find it, run it and work on it.

Notion

Workflows can now read and update your Notion pages and databases.

Also

  • Share a view-only link to a workflow. Sensitive details stay hidden.
  • Pick which Google Drive files a workflow can use, including templates it can copy.
  • Go back to earlier screens in a run to see what was already submitted.
  • Improvements to draft comparisons.
